F FLEECE WOOL

Judging will take place during Show week. Judging will take place in the Wool Pavilion.

Fleeces must be at the Showgrounds no later than Wednesday 12.00pm.  Fleeces may be delivered to the Showgrounds or to the Nicholls’ House.

Fleeces must be collected by 4.00pm Saturday.

CONDITIONS

Fleeces must have tags attached. Fleeces must not be more than 12 months' growth, excepting hoggets, and to be shorn from sheep the property of the exhibitor for at least six months prior to the show. Skirted fleeces only to be sent in for competition. The wool will be weighed and valued by the judge. Fleece gaining highest points to receive the award. Fleeces which, in the opinion of the judge are wrongly classified will be removed to their proper sections and judged accordingly. Exhibitors are requested to have all containers and sheets clearly marked with their names.

Note: Housed Ram Wool Fleeces must be entered in housed sections.

NEW IN 2019: VAS LTD FLEECE COMPETITION: An exhibitor, having won the overall Champion Fleece at a Show, will be eligible for the Group Final; the winner will then be required to submit a fleece at the State Final.
